Airbnb activates antiparty technology in Las Vegas for Halloween weekend

Over Halloween weekend last year, the system helped deter about 40 people in Las Vegas from booking an entire home on Airbnb, the company said in an email to the Sun. Airbnb is activating its heightened antiparty technology in Las Vegas and across the U.S. for Halloween weekend as it aims to block bookings deemed more likely to lead to disruptive parties. Last year, the system deterred about 40 people in Las Las Vegas from booking an entire home on Airbnb, and over 23,500 across the country, including about 3,230 people in Texas and 3,170 in Florida. This is the sixth consecutive year Airbnb has activated the elevated system for the holiday. The company's community disturbance policy restricts open-invite gatherings, including parties advertised publicly or on social media, and advertising listings as party friendly. It also warns against minors younger than 18 who cannot have Airbnb accounts and adult account holders may not book a stay for a minor unless they are present for the entire trip.
