LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A woman charged with killing her two nieces in a 2022 DUI crash has agreed to plead guilty.

Las Vegas police said KaLeah Manning was driving drunk after splitting a bottle of tequila with a friend in December 2022 when she failed to make a turn on Scott Robinson Boulevard and slammed head-on into a large palm tree.

One of the girls was killed instantly and another died at the hospital. Manning and the girls’ mother, who was riding in the car, were seriously injured. The impact of the crash caused the mother’s spleen to rupture, while the suspect suffered a ruptured bladder, a spinal injury and a hip dislocation.

Police said Manning smelled like alcohol, had slurred speech, and her eyes were bloodshot. Her blood alcohol level was .19, more than twice the legal limit.

An April 8 jury trial in Clark County District Court was canceled by Judge Adriana Escobar. Manning agreed to plead guilty to two counts of driving under the influence resulting in death in exchange for other charges against her being dropped.

She has a sentencing hearing set for June 27.
